ABOUT US
Sykehead holds a Higher 5-Star Council License with Cumberland Council. Our license number is M:009051.
I was one of the first breeders in the UK to become a nationally recognised Qualified Dog Breeder, having completed the Ofqual Level 3 Certificate in Dog Breeding, Puppy Socialising and Welfare. I am very proud to hold this certificate and be recognised for my hard work and dedication to my fully health-tested Labradors in Cumbria.
In 2023, I also undertook significant CPD in veterinary nursing up to Level 4. Alongside this, I completed:
• Level 3 in First Aid for Puppies and Dogs
• Level 3 Kennel Assistant and Management
• Canine Embryology and Foetal Development for Breeders
• Canine Pregnancy and Whelping
• Puppy Socialisation for Breeders
• Level 3 Canine Nutrition
You can rest assured that our puppies are raised to the best of my ability, receiving the highest standards of care, socialisation, and nutrition. I pride myself on giving 110% in everything I do and in what I’ve learned over my 24 years of breeding. I continually aim to improve myself and my knowledge in every way I can and will continue my learning.

About Our Puppies
The puppies will be born beside my bed and then moved into our kitchen, where they will quickly get used to the household noises typical of a busy country farmhouse.
They will be weaned onto high-quality dry kibble.
Before leaving us at 8 weeks, each puppy will have received the best start in life, including:
• Well-socialised early experiences
• A strict worming programme
• Frontline treatment at 6 weeks
• Microchipping at 6 weeks
• A vet check close to 8 weeks
In addition to household noise, they will enjoy our purpose-built enrichment puppy room. This space allows for safe exploration and play and supports early stimulation and cognitive development between 4 and 16 weeks of age.
Research shows that pups exposed to diverse textures, sounds, and stimuli in early life grow into more stable, confident, and trainable dogs. Even well-bred pups with superior pedigrees may underperform socially if raised in unstimulating environments.
Our Early Development Puppy Play Area, with a variety of toys and sensory challenges, is designed to prevent that.
